Get to know Musculoskeletal Radiologist and Neuroimaging Expert,  Dr. Justin A. Chetta, who serves patients in Charleston, South Carolina

Dr. Chetta is a musculoskeletal radiologist specializing in neuroimaging who sees patients at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) Health in Charleston, South Carolina. His areas of expertise further cover spine procedures (cement augmentation), radiofrequency ablation, and interventional pain management. Dr. Chetta maintains an active interest in optimizing imaging protocols and quality improvement. Academically, he maintains a role as an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He is currently licensed to practice medicine in Texas, South Carolina, and Colorado.

Dr. Chetta is a Summa Cum Laude undergraduate of Baylor University, where he received induction into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He obtained his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 2013, and was a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Chetta remained at Baylor for his internship and diagnostic radiology residency (2013-2018), as well as his neuroradiology fellowship. He furthered his training with a musculoskeletal imaging/intervention fellowship which he conducted at the University of Colorado. During his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, he served as Chief Resident and also graduated top of his class and was named a honorary medical physicist 

Dr. Chetta is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Established in 1934, the American Board of Radiology is a not-for-profit physician-led organization with headquarters in Tucson, Arizona. It oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology and medical physics.

Radiology is the medical discipline that uses medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the body. Neuroimaging is a discipline that studies the structure and function of the nervous system by means of imaging technology, and where the images of the brain can be obtained in a non-invasive way. It explores a series of mechanisms such as cognition, information processing, and brain changes in the pathological state.
