Get to know Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Brandon Jay Johnson, who serves patients in Utah.

A licensed clinical social worker, Brandon is the Owner of Mulligan Counseling Services in South Jordan, Utah.

His client-centric approach revolves around guiding individuals to: 1) stop hiding and start living, 2) build inner-strength and self-belief, and 3) overcome life’s challenges with honor and integrity. Brandon employs motivational interviewing, along with acceptance and commitment therapy approaches, as key components in his interactions with clients.

Graduating with his Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Utah in 2013, Brandon held a position as a social worker at the Department of Veterans Affairs from July 2013 to May 2014. Subsequently, he dedicated his expertise as an adolescent and family therapist, specializing in working with 14-18 year old boys and their families at Aspiro – High Adventure Program from May 2014 to November 2021.

Dedicated to providing clinical excellence, Brandon is an esteemed member of the National Association of Social Workers.

His research interests encompass PTSD and trauma among military, police, and first responders, as well as substance abuse and forensic psychology.

Social work is an academic discipline and profession that concerns itself with individuals, families, groups, and communities in an effort to enhance social functioning and overall well-being. A licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) works with patients in order to help them deal with issues involving mental and emotional health. There are a wide variety of specializations the LCSW can focus on, including mental health issues, substance abuse, public health, school social work, medical social work, marriage counseling or children and family therapy.
