With a broad educational background, Dr. Lyons earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and later finished her fellowship training in allergy and immunology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. During her training, she received the prestigious Presidential Merit Scholarship and was selected for a National Institute of Health Study Research Fellowship.
Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in allergy & immunology through the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology.
Among her other roles, she serves as a Section Leader within the Department of Allergy and Immunology at McKay Dee Hospital. She previously served as the President of the Utah Chapter of the American Lung Association and the Utah Society of Allergy and Asthma.
In addition to her clinic work, Dr. Lyons has been a principal investigator for over 130 Federal Drug Administration (FDA) research studies involving a wide variety of illnesses and medications. She also is the author of numerous medical articles on asthma, drug allergies, and immunotherapy, and the Co-Founder of What Doctors Know, an international digital publication.
