Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Rendoll Concepcion, who serves patients in Fresno, California.

As a general surgeon, Dr. Concepcion performs surgical procedures to treat conditions affecting the abdomen and related structures, like hernias or tumors. He is in private practice in Fresno, California.

Locally, he is affiliated with a number of hospitals and medical centers, including Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital, Saint Agnes Medical Center, Community Regional Medical Center, Adventist Health Hanford, San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital and Madera Community Hospital. 

Graduating with his medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara Facultad De Medicina in Mexico, Dr. Concepcion relocated to the United States. Once there, he performed his internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center, his residency in family medicine at Riverside County Regional Medical Center, his residency in general surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center, and his fellowship in medical oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.
