Can a Gluten Free Diet Help Shed Pounds?

Studies have found that a gluten-free diet may do the opposite

Some studies have shown that those who consume more gluten free foods without first consulting with a healthcare professional are far more likely to gain weight and increase their processed sugar intake when compared to those who do not limit other foods for gluten free problems. Just because one may be omitting certain foods, it can be a cause of concern simply because people may miss out on some other nutrients that they should be getting. Going pure gluten free without a proper cause of a healthcare professionals sign off can actually cause more harm than good for some.

This can be an issue for those who are not only looking to lose weight, but are desperate to find reasons as to why they are not properly losing weight. While not every healthcare and dietary change has to have a sign off by a healthcare provider, making serious changes to a diet can be of great concern if too much weight is gained or lost.
