Amblyopia has "a window of opportunity" for any improvement to occur. The earlier that amblyopia is diagnosed, a better the may occur. Patching, glasses, and contact lenses are usual therapies. If the amblyopia was a result of an eye turn or strabismus, muscle surgery may help the cosmetic issue.
I would strongly suggest that an eye doctor become involved in order to determine what the actual corrected visual acuity is with the amblyopic eye. And a plan needs to be implemented to determine if any improvement may occur at this time with lenses, patching, surgery, or other combined therapies. One factor to be aware of, there may be a depth perception or binocular vision problem that exists. So safety first, always. In order to protect the "better seeing" eye, safety lenses worn full time should be considered. These lenses are polycarbonate or trivex plastic material.

Styes are usually the result of a blocked gland on the skin of the eyelid margins. "Eyelid hygiene" is cleaning or washing the eyelids with "no more tears" baby shampoo in order to remove bacteria or "debris" that can form on these eyelid margins. I am concerned about the "drops" that you are using. There are too many drops on the market and since your problem has not gone away, I would consult an eye doctor since this is a recurring problem. An eye doctor will be able to look under a bio- microscope in order to look at the eyelid margins more closely. And if any eye drop, lubricant, or eye medication is necessary, you would be in better hands rather than self-treating your ongoing problem.

Eye floaters are common especially as we age. The warning sign for your retinal tear may have been the onset of a new floater(s). The fact that you still have floaters may be something that may last for some time. The floaters can sometimes "settle" out of your line of vision, but again this may take the time or may not occur. Any signs of any new floaters, flashes of light, "clouds" or "curtains" coming over your vision, side vision/visual field losses, or any pain should be discussed ASAP with your eye doctor.
Is there any way to treat squinty eyes without surgery?

If your son is squinting, I would suggest having an eye doctor check to see if a prescription for glasses or contact lenses may eliminate the need to squint. Squinting sometimes creates a "pinhole effect" (a smaller pupil) allowing one to see better. Have the doctor check for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism as well as a full eye health evaluation including eye pressure, retina, and all internal structures. Surgery may be totally unnecessary. Good luck.
Can a two year old have glasses?

I do not know the connection of watching too much TV and needing glasses? Being too close or squinting may be some indication of having vision issues. And yes, glasses at any age, when needed is certainly OK. If you are concerned, make an appointment with an eye doctor, preferably someone who sees children and is a pediatric optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT self-treat this. Call an eye doctor to be seen ASAP. There may be some other issues inside the eye that should be properly evaluated. You must be sure that there are not any internal eye issues. Swelling is an indication of inflammation or injury; the question is, "where exactly is the inflammation or injury actually located"?
Will vitamin A supplements improve my eyesight?

Here is a good website to read. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/eye-vitamins. And my best advice to you would be to have this conversation with your own eye doctor who knows your eyes better than anyone. And he or she can then take your concerns and advise you as to what would be the best course of action for you. And certainly, before taking ANY vitamins or supplements, consult and advise your family MD, always.

First if all, what kind of dust are you talking about? Some things that are breathed in can potentially be harmful to your lungs and your nasal passages. Maybe wearing a mask can reduce your exposure. There is little chance that "damage" can occur to your eyesight. This may be more of a nuisance or an inconvenience. Using some preservative free artificial tears as needed will help flush any of these particles from your eyes. And your normal blinking will also flush anything to the inside corners of your eyes which can then be removed gently with a soft kleenex. Best advice is to avoid this exposure if at all possible. One other suggestion, goggles or swimming goggles will adhere to your face and eye area so that no dust would contact you at all.
Good Luck.

Will my son need glasses for life?

It really depends upon what his prescription is, or in eye care terms, "what is his refractive error problem"? What this means is this; is he nearsighted, farsighted, or does he have astigmatism? Knowing this, you may be able to predict if this is a short-term or long-term issue. Also, there are other options other than glasses when he is at a certain age, including contact lenses or refractive surgery.
