If you have the active disease, you will have IgM antibodies for VZV in your serum. If you have been exposed, you have IgG antibodies for VZV in your serum. If you get reactivated, like develop shingles, I believe you would have both antibodies, but I am not certain about that. Reactivation is usually diagnosed by the rash and not testing antibodies for VZV. At this point in your life, don't worry about VZV unless you have physical symptoms.
