During anesthesia, you don't have eye protective reflexes, and secretions decrease. So, you have a propensity for eye lesions like corneal abrasions.
How do they wake you up from anesthesia?
As soon as surgery ends, all gases are discontinued and muscle paralysis is reverted. It's a matter of minutes.

All depends on the anesthetic used. Could be 1 hr or 2 hrs or 3 hrs.
