One possibility is the glucose may have been low at the time of the episode and your body corrected the glucose level on its own and so when it was checked the level was fine. If you have not already done so; I recommend that you look into a continuous glucose sensor.

There is no risk of hypoglycemia with this medication alone and it generally improves other conditions associated with diabetes that are not caused by high glucose levels such as heart attacks and strokes. I do not feel that you need different medications now; however, I usually check an insulin level in the blood, and if this level is less than 20 no additional medications are needed. Continue a healthy lifestyle and an A1c level of 6.2% is great!

Ceylon cinnamon seems to have less coumarin than and may be safer in this regard; however, also may not have as many diabetes benefits. Taken in small amounts in yogurt or cereals this is safe. Cinnamon supplements may not provide much health benefit and may pose some risks.
