Dr. Rahul Deshmukh is a board-certified Orthopedic surgeon in Jacksonville, FL specializing in sports medicine, advanced arthroscopy, minimally invasive joint replacement and trauma. As a Jacksonville native, Dr. Deshmukh is proud to bring his expertise as a nationally recognized surgeon to his local community and has received the Jacksonville Magazine Top Doctors Award and Patients Choice Award. Before he went off to receive his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Deshmukh served as the Bolles valedictorian. During his time in Boston, he served as the assistant team physician to the Boston Celtics. He is the current Chief of Orthopedics and Director of Orthopedic Center of Excellence for St. Vincent's Southside. He also serves as the team physician for the Jacksonville Icemen.
When he's not in the office, Dr. Deshmukh enjoys traveling the world, sailing and spending time with his family. In addition, he likes to learn new languages and is currently proficient in Spanish, French, Marathi and Hindi.

Coming from someone who just had ACL surgery with Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, the recovery is not bad if you keep a strict physical therapy regimen and follow the post-op protocols. You are in a locked brace for the first two weeks post surgery and then (pending your physical therapist’s approval) you are able to be more mobile. Please consult your physician before making your decision about your treatment options.
