It is common to experience side effects with rapid weight loss, regardless of the approach. That is a big shift to homeostasis of the body. Additionally, many environmental toxins are lipophilic (fat binding). When one burns fat, it can release these toxins into the bloodstream, that can cause a myriad of symptoms, including fatigue, malaise, other flu-like symptoms, emotional upheaval, skin irritation, flushing, and more. I want to share basic prevention to care for the heart with the caveat - this does not replace personal medical care, work up and treatment. Can you treat effectively something you are not fully certain of what it is, or what is causing it? I think, no. I highly encourage making sure you are receiving guidance from your healthcare team, and not doing this alone. None of us should. It is not smart. We are too subjective in our own care. It's like rock climbing - we need a belay. Back to prevention - effective tools for stress management (yoga, meditation, mindfulness, spiritual practice); biofeedback and strengthening heart rate variability; no caffeine, alcohol or smoking; a diet clean of underlying food sensitivities, sugars, processed foods, chemicals, industrial oils; lowering your toxic burden; exploring genetics and family history further; getting regular movement and time outside. Again, these are prevention, not necessarily treatment.

It really depends on several factors - the training and experience of the practitioner, the etiology of your foot pain, and how you are caring for it yourself. If you go the massage route, my personal preference is to find someone experienced in myofascial work and visceral manipulation. the work is much more specific and gentle. If the foot pain is soft tissue related, that would be the best place to start. They will address your whole body. The foot pain may be a downstream effect from upper body restrictions and imbalances in posture or uneven gait, for example. I do visceral manipulation in my practice. I once treated a patient for foot pain. The only assessment I made with my palpation was liver restriction. Once I addressed that, the foot pain resolved. You just never know...
If the foot pain is related to skeletal misalignment, then chiropractor is where you could begin. Other tools to consider - craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, changing shoes, orthotics. If persists, make sure to get imaging.

For kiddos under 1 year of age, no honey. After that, they are more likely to have a mature enough immune system to protect from potential botulism. It should. Connection. Space to be heard and validated. We all need it, especially after the past 2 years... It is a foundation of health, like water and air.
