We always use general anesthesia with advanced monitors such as an arterial line (to measure BP in real time) and a central venous pressure line (placed in the neck). This is a complex anesthetic that should be done at major medical centers where people have had experience. (Do not try this at home!!)
Do you get put to sleep for hemorrhoid surgery?
Spinal anesthesia can be used, or the patient can have general anesthesia. Personal preference.
Can you be under anesthesia for eye surgery?
Yes, but for cataracts most eye surgeons prefer doing local anesthesia. For more serious cases (trauma, reconstructive surgery,etc), GA is the only option.
How long after a C-section can I walk?
This a question for the surgeon, but often patients are up walking later in the day and most definitely by the next morning.
Can anesthesia cause liver damage?
Usually it does not, The potent inhalation agents are exhaled through the lungs.
