It will depend in part on how much social interaction occurs on line during remote learning, both in opportunity and how your child pursues those opportunities. Children are less likely to lose skills the skills they already have. That said, children’s social emotional development occurs in the context of relationships and peers, especially older teens, so it is a concern that children do not have the same opportunities for day to day interactions and group interactions. Fortunately, other online opportunities can provide ongoing peer interactions.
