Dr. Andrew Ayers Martin is a pathologist practicing in Clarksdale, MS. He has special expertise in legal medicine as a Juris Doctor law review graduate of Duke Law School, admitted to practice law in California, Louisiana, and the District of Columbia, having worked in the office of Risk Management at Duke Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

His expertise and interest in microbiology and infectious disease are connected to the excellent Centers for Disease Control (CDC) professors who taught him at Emory Medical School in the early 1980s when the causative agent for AIDS was discovered to be HIV. While doing his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Tulane Medical Center and Charity Hospital in New Orleans, he served as pathology coordinator for the Tulane-LSU Clinical Trials Unit in New Orleans, doing an autopsy and microscopic exams of tissue from AIDS patients as well as bone marrow biopsies. Dr. Martin completed his surgical pathology training at Baylor-Houston at the Texas Medical Center, entering private practice in 1995. He is a former College of American Pathology Laboratory Inspector and is Medical Laboratory Director of MiDSouth Pathology, his Anatomic Laboratory as well as Delta Health-Northwest Mississippi Regional in Clarksdale, Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville, and Tallahatchie General in Charleston, Mississippi.

The practice is concentrated in the Mississippi Delta and Delta Hills south of Memphis. MiDSouth Pathology was founded in 1995 at King's Daughters Hospital in Greenville, Mississippi by Dr. Martin and Dr. Eric Reimund, the pathologist and medical laboratory director at Delta Health- The Medical Center, formerly known as Delta Regional in Greenville.
Dr. Martin is also certified as a Medical Review Officer (MRO) by the American Association of Medical Review Officers, to perform interpretation of federal drug testing and toxicology for federal and local facilities, particularly the Department of Transportation (DOT).
