Sabet Hashim, MD

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Sabet W. Hashim, MD, FACS, is a well-versed cardiothoracic surgeon who diagnoses and treats patients at Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. He is the Chairman of Cardiac Surgery & Co-Physician in Chief at Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut, roles he embraced in 2016. Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Hashim served as Director of Cardiac Valve Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he performed the first mitral valve repair in New England as well as the first g-heart transplant in Connecticut in 1984. Dr. Hashim’s professional journey spans over four decades and his expertise is mitral valve repair. Areas of interest include aortic valve replacement, coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, mitra clip for mitral regurgitation, surgery for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, and others.
