FYI, post-nasal drip is normal in most cases, except when it is not, depending on the nature of the drip, e.g. purulent, thick, bloody, etc. PND occurs because intranasal secretions move backward to the throat and are swallowed. Normal physiology. PND can worsen with dehydration, utterly, smoking, alcohol intake. exposure to airway irritants, infection, etc. You most likely do not have a sinus infection. Go see an ENT doctor, not your primary care physician. Drink at least two quarts of clear fluids per day. Don't smoke. No throat clearing. Get HEPA air filters for your living spaces.

Thyroid nodule?

You could instill some 3% peroxide in the involved ear for 10-15 seconds and then gently irrigate the canal with warm water or in the shower. If this does not work or if not better in a few days, take the child back to the ENT.
