Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like you overworked the muscles and now they are strained. I would hear the muscles with a heating pad for about 15-20 minutes and then stretch out the calf muscles. This can be done by taking a towel, place under the ball of your foot and gently pulling back on the foot to stretch the calves. After doing so, use an analgesic cream for relief. I know they say to ice the area, but I find heat will help the muscle relax and increase blood flow to help stretch the muscle better. You can apply an ice pack to the area if you like to help reduce the pain after the stretch. Do this stretch about 2-3 times a day, stretching it about 10 times in one session, holding it for about 5 seconds and then release for 5 seconds.
Hope this helps.

I'm sorry to hear about your fall. Your ankle injury is most likely a Grade II ankle sprain as this is the most common ankle injury. However, without a proper assessment and diagnosis, it would be difficult to say how bad the sprain is. You can always wrap it up with a tensor bandage, elevate the ankle above the heart while laying down and ice it. Avoid walking on it for a bit and see how it feels in a weeks time. In the mean time, see your family doctor for an X-ray and an ultrasound to see if there is any fracture or ligament damage. The ankle should feel better within 4-6 weeks. Seek the help of a chiropractor or a physiotherapy as they will be able to assist you with proper therapy and exercises as well.

I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder pain. The shoulder is a complex joint with a lot of axial movements. In order to determine the best care for your shoulder pain, I would recommend consulting with a Chiropractor or physiotherapist. They should be able to perform some orthopedic tests to determine what muscles, ligaments, joints and/or nerves may be involved. There are many actions of the shoulder with multiple muscles working together to assist in all movements. You may have a tear in the muscle or tendon, it may be ligament injury, could be joint related or maybe even a nerve compromise. Once your practitioner is able to diagnose the issue, he/she will be able to help you better and help you with your pain. Hope this helps.

He should be able to refer you to a physiatrist or an orthopaedic specialist for further care and testing. You can also see a Chiropractor or physiotherapist and have them do an assessment to determine the cause of the problem. It may be a simple muscle strain or a possible tear of the associated muscle. Therapy for hip replacement surgery may be a bit uncomfortable in the beginning with some pain and stiffness. However, during your rehab process, you will notice that each and every therapy session will be better and easier to tolerate. You will also notice improvements throughout. You will see increased range of motion and strength as you progress through the treatments. To prepare yourself, just remember, you will get better and in the end, it will be worth it. Prepare yourself mentally and know what your end goals will be. It may be advisable to take a pain killer before your session so that your therapist can work in a manner that will be tolerable for you. Talk to your therapist and see what he or she recommends prior to your visits.

Hello and sorry for your condition. First of all, a clear understanding of your condition is required. A proper assessment must be performed to determine the muscles involved. The muscles involved are usually the sternocleidomastoid and / or the trapezius muscles which have gone into severe spasms. Treatment would include interferential current, moist heat, ultrasound, active release technique, stretching and range of motion exercises. I, myself, being a Chiropractor, would do manipulation of the cervical and thoracic spine to release any joints that may be involved due to this. Keeping the neck muscles warm and stretching them at home helps ease the muscle spasms. I hope this helps you.
