Dr. Nupur Ghoshal treats patients at Washington University Physicians in St. Louis, MO. She is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine since 2003. Dr. Ghoshal’s interest in medicine started from an early age, she was especially passionate about research. Her particular interest in genetic research remained with her throughout her studies. As a neurologist, Dr. Ghoshal specializes in the study, diagnosis, treatment, and management of injuries, diseases, and disorders of the nervous system. The nervous system includes the brain and spinal cord and is made up of two parts: the central and peripheral nervous system. Illnesses, injuries, and disorders that affect the nervous system often require a neurologist’s treatment. Her expertise is in neurology, neurodegenerative disorders, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and Frontotemporal dementia.
Dr. Ghoshal works as a neurohospitalist and provides treatment for patients with neurologic conditions in the hospital setting. The American Health Council has recognized Dr. Nupur Ghoshal as “Best in Medicine.” Dr. Ghoshal has received numerous awards and accolades including, Chief Resident, Outstanding Alumni Under 40, and the Richard & Mildred Poletsky Award for contributions to dementia care & research (2008). She has also been a Tau Consortium Fellow for 2018-19 and is affiliated with the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and Sigma Xi. Dr. Ghoshal plans to specialize in the research of non-Alzheimer’s dementia and begin performing clinical trials based on that research and patient population. She has also maintained professional memberships with the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Phi Kappa Phi Society of Neuroscience.
