It would appear that white tailed deer found in every state except Alaska are contracting the coronavirus in the wild. Blood analysis on samples from over 600 deer conducted by the USDA of the 152 wild deer tested from January through March 2021, showed that 40% had antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. Since transmissibility is essential to viral evolution the animals do not need to be sick to become a vector.
There has also been a report that Elk in the New York area have been found with Covid strain infection. This apparently from an internationally recognized and accredited research group authorized to work and study in the USA. This means that animal vectors now exist that can provide a host of insect transmitters. Deer flies, mites, mosquitoes, etc. Whether or not engineered into vitality or coming from bats or snakes is of historical and moral interest only.
Climate change is enabling the virus to evolve into more and more infectious strains (Delta now Lambda) which will spread through a world without world government unable to assure world compliance to public health practices. Politicization of the pandemic and the issues of vaccination and social distancing have eliminated the USA from a health leadership role in the world. The planet Earth will continue to exist for at least 200 million years but mankind almost certainly will not.
