Yesterday was National Doctor's Day, and in a month dedicated to women, MLK memory, Asian and Indigenous peoples, President Biden signed into law the anti-lynching bill making lynching a Federal crime. The law is dedicated to Emmett Till (murdered grotesquely in 1955), it took the lifespan of the Republic to emerge. So, let us thank the doctors who struggle against disease and their own ambivalence and pray that omicron and BA.2 become endemic and manageable through vaccines and antivirals. The program Neanderthal returned to PBS and continues to remind us of our tenuous hold on surviving. It's educational and enjoyable!
