A common cause of pain with rotation in the low back is facet dysfunction. The Lumbar vertebrae is subluxed (out of alignment) which can lead to the facets (where vertebrae meets vertebrae) being in a suboptimal position. When facets are not moving properly they can cause sharp pain that comes and goes quickly and/or muscular spasms that cause dull aching pain. Chiropractic is absolutely a good fix for this issue. It can absolutely be fixed. If you were a patient at my clinic, I would have you undergo a trial of conservative care (4-6 visits) with chiropractic and physical therapy before ordering an X-ray. Great question! Short answer is it depends on the origin of the pain. Long answer: If the pain is due to a recent strain of the muscles that act on the shoulder then physical therapy would be a better option, but if the pain is resulting from a lack of range of motion (i.e. frozen shoulder) inflammation begins to set in causing local pain. In the latter case, chiropractic care would be a great option to restore mobility to the shoulder. I would advise you to seek out a qualified professional for an evaluation of your shoulder.
