Many People are Struggling in Today's World.

Sickness Spreads Rampantly.

Feebleness Seems to be Becoming the New Norm.

There is a Higher Reliance on what I would Consider Band-Aids and Crutches, which were Never Designed to Solve Anything.

Only to make us Reliant, through Emotional and Physical Addiction.

We can Often Look at the World and Begin to Believe that...

Maybe...

We are Becoming Weaker and Sicker as a Society.

Crumbling Far Before Time Would Warrant.

It is Enough to Make Anyone Struggle to Find Hope...

It Feels Almost as if We have Been Cursed to Decay into Oblivion.

I have Felt It Too.

Yet...

The More I Understand Psychophysiology...

The More that I Work on Improving My Own Psychophysiology...

The More I Work with Clients on Improving Their Psychophysiology...

The More I Become Amazed at the Human Ability to Recover.

In Some Situations it can Appear...

Miraculous.

Perhaps the Hand of God Does Work Over Us in Some Ways...

That is something I Do Believe...

Yet, much of the Psychophysiological Work that I Do...

Is Simply Human.

With a Basis in Hard Science.

Nothing Mystifying.

Often, there are Practices or Tools that are Fairly Simple to Utilize...

Yet their Results Truly Boggle My Mind.

For Instance, I have a Client whom I am Working With...

Not my "Typical" Business, Leadership, and Sageship Type of Client who is Seeking to Improve their Peak Performance in Work and Life.

But I do have the Psychophysiological Training and Certification to Provide Certain Therapies.

This particular Client has Non-Verbal Autism, and I'm Providing primarily Nervous System Work and Therapies with them.

You can Imagine that there are some Interesting Physiological Barriers that We have to work with, which Limits the Types of Nervous System Work We Can Do.

Now, by "Most" Standards, this Client would be Considered a "Lost Cause" Due to their Age...

I'm 31 and they are Older than I am.

And they have done a Lot of Therapies over the Years...

Diet, Brain, Gut-Work, and Speech Therapy.

Some of which they are Still Doing Outside of My Work with them.

Much of it Showed Few Improvements Overall.

But...

Nervous System Work is New to This Client.

So, We are Tracking Metrics of Health like RHR, HRV, and Sleep to Determine when things are Working...

When things are Moving too Fast...

Or When we Need to Pull Back or Completely Stop.

These Types of Metrics Reflect the State of the Nervous System.

Understanding these Numbers can Really Help You Dial In Your Psychophysiological Training and Cultivation to Match the State of Your Nervous System.

By Doing This, You can actually Speed Up Your Psychophysiological Results compared to a "Standardized Plan".

But, Much of this type of Nervous System Work and Metrics Tracking has Not been Done Extensively within the Autistic Community from the Research I can Find...

So I Really Had "No" Idea what to Expect with this Client.

All I Knew was that there was Someone in Need that I Might be able to Help...

And if this Type of Work Helped People Reach Significantly Higher Levels of Peak Performance in Work and Life (as My Typical Clients Seek)...

Then, perhaps, there was a Possibility, However Small, We Could Accomplish the Same with this Client.

So the Plan was to Start Slow...

Pay Extra Close Attention to the Metrics...

Move with Caution and Play It Safe when in Doubt...

Since the Therapies We Chose are Considered Extremely Safe, with Few Contraindications within the General Population and No Known Contraindications within the Autistic Population, We Were Not Concerned about Anything Major...

But Slow and Steady is Always a Better Strategy when Testing New Waters.

So We Began Work...

And We were Beginning to See Some Results that, Quite Honestly, Astonished Me.

They were Gaining Better Range of Motion in their Body.

Acting Happier.

More Focused and Able to Maintain Attention.

Their Speech Therapists were also Reporting New Progress, which was Completely Unexpected.

Sleep Quantity (Total Hours) and Quality (% Recovery Sleep) were Increasing.

Things were Looking Incredibly Promising.

Then...

The Client had a 2-Week Break.

They were in a Different Environment...

Their Schedule was Very Different...

Their Food was Different...

If you Follow My Work, You will Understand that these can All be Categorized as...

New Stressors.

To Say the Least...

All of the Metrics We have Been Tracking Crashed During that 2-Week Break.

To a Lower Point Than When We Began Our Work Together.

Now, one of the things that I noticed with this Client is that Stressors Seem to Impact them Significantly More than the "Average" Individual.

It is like their Stress Threshold is Significantly Low, and New Stressors Often Spike the Survival Response in the Nervous System.

All this to Say that, Looking at the Data, it Appeared that Months of Progress and Improvement were Completely and Utterly Lost.

It was Heartbreaking...

But I Knew We Could Recover from this...

So, I began at the Beginning, Expecting to Need to Rebuild Everything from the Ground Up...

But I Did Not...

Instead, We Allowed the Nervous System to Relax and did Minimal Work for Two Weeks...

As they Got Back into their Normal Routines...

Surprisingly, their Body Seemed to Recover to Where We Had Gotten, in a Fraction of the Time it Took to "Get" to that Point Originally.

They are Now Getting Back Fully into their Routines...

Fully Into All of Their Therapies...

And are Making New Progress.

I was Not Expecting this to Happen for Some Time...

But Here We Are...

Even in What Many Would Deem a "Hopeless" Situation...

I am Seeing the Body Recover...

Further, it Appears that the Body "Wants" to Recover and Progress Further.

Now, Relatively Speaking, this Work with this Client is "Far" Too Early in the Process to Make Any Definitive Claims...

But We are Tracking the Metrics...

Keeping Strong Notes...

Paying Attention to the Progress Closely.

I am Unsure How Far We Can Go...

But the Results So Far have Appeared Miraculous...

And the Human Body's Ability to Recover Amazes Me to No End.

When You Begin to Live as the Body is Designed...

We Can Accomplish Spectacular Things.
