Multiple Sclerosis: Researchers Are Recruiting for Genetic Studies
How could researchers predict MS?
The human genome plays a major role in determining many of the health conditions and diseases that humans may develop. There are a number of very specific variations in the human genome that researchers have proven to play a pivotal role in declaring which people are of the highest risk of being diagnosed with MS. There are also a number of variations in the human genome which may determine the influencing factors of the course of MS.
Through the identification of the role of MS genes and the exact location of those genes, researchers hope to be able to better predict which people are at the greatest risk for developing MS. The researchers behind this study are also hoping to find specific clues behind the cause of the disease, how to prevent the disease, and how to best treat the disease to control symptoms and slow (or stop) the progression of the disease.
