Is a Placebo Just as Effective as Morphine in Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain?

How was the study conducted?

In the study, researchers recruited 11 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 10 with fibromyalgia, and 20 healthy patients as a control group. Within these groups, they randomly assigned people to either take morphine or placebo as their pain relief. The patients had no idea what their assignment consisted of, so they didn't know whether the injection they received was morphine or simply placebo.
