Boy with Autism Has Giant Birthday Bash After Nobody RSVPs
Nobody RSVPd to the birthday party his mother organized
In November, as Mathias’s birthday was fast approaching, Lisa decided that they would try to throw him a small birthday party. A month in advance, Lisa sent out invitations to other children in his class for a birthday party at a local movie theater where the children would see the newly released Thor movie. Lisa noted that the group rate required 10 attendants, so they were hoping at least this many students would attend, and that they were more than willing to cover the cost of the party. Despite their advanced notice, weeks went by and no one replied. Lisa noted that she was frustrated because she felt that other families may have been staying away from Mathias’s party because of his condition. Due to his autism, Mathias will sometimes act out in class in ways that may be abnormal or uncomfortable. Even so, Mathias really has a good heart, and he and his caregivers are doing their best to help him adapt to the world.
