How to Cope with Sadness When Cancer Treatment Ends

Be nice to yourself

This one seems pretty simple, but it is one of the hardest things to do. Of course, be nice to those around you, but odds are that you are having a harder time being kind to yourself - this is what is of crucial importance at the moment.

Some people feel as if they had so much attention on them when they had cancer that they want to dote on others for a change, and want to put their wants and needs at the bottom since it is no longer a matter of life or death. However, this is not a healthy way to readjust into your life.

Make sure that you are treating yourself nicely, because if you don't, you will find that the sadness of cancer will follow you, no matter how long you remain healthy. You have your life back now, so live it to the fullest. Enjoy the things that used to make you happy, and find new things that you have never tried before. Focus on what you consider to be important in your life, and on your own personal growth.
