For a long time, the medical community believed that multiple sclerosis only affected people of Caucasian origins. Even in more recent years when it became evident that the disease didn’t exclusively affect people of European descent, popular consensus still held that MS affected Caucasians at a higher rate than other people groups. But thanks to more recent research specifically addressing the question of how MS affects different ethnic groups, physicians are beginning to unravel this long-believed myth.
