Sara Jean wants us to be aware that the excess mucus produced by CF causes a chronic strangling-like cough that sounds somewhat like acute bronchitis. These “coughing fits” can take the breath away from those with CF. Vomiting up the excess phlegm during a coughing spell is not uncommon.
