9 Signs Someone May Have Sleep Apnea
2. Snoring
Snoring is a classic symptom of sleep apnea. Almost half the population snores, but this may be a sign of a deeper problem. With sleep apnea, snoring happens during the time when your breathing stops. The snoring is caused by the obstruction of the airflow at the back of your mouth or nose. Then, it causes a vibration sound through your nose and throat. The vibration sound is what you would typically associate with snoring. Other physiological features may make you more prone to snoring and sleep apnea. Along with snoring, gasping for breath or other sounds may occur. If you sleep alone, this may be more difficult to diagnose. However, if someone hears you snoring, it might be a symptom of an underlying problem with sleep apnea.
