Dermatologist Questions

Acne

Hello, I am currently dealing with Constant acne , and for the past few months i have been taking accutane 20mg and Yazmin Birth control to treat it, But I have run out of the accutane pills. I was just wondering If it is possible to get another prescription from a doctor In perth Australia without having to see a Dermatologist again, as I cannot afford it at the moment. Thank you.

It sounds like you've been using Accutane and Yazmin birth control for your acne, but you've run out of your Accutane pills. To get more, you'll usually need a prescription.

In Australia, Accutane is a medication you need a doctor's prescription for. Since you’ve been using it before, you might be able to go to a general doctor (GP) instead of a dermatologist to get a new prescription. The GP can check if it’s okay for you to keep using it.

If money is a concern, you can also talk to your doctor about finding more affordable options for acne treatment.
