Can a loose dental crown be reattached?
Yes—if the underlying tooth and crown are intact:
Clean crown and tooth of old cement.
Evaluate fit and adjust if needed.
Re-cement with dental luting agent.
If you’re unsure what cement to use or have questions about retreatment, a Dentulu dentist can guide you step by step. Get the app or visit www.dentulu.com.

A lot of times it can, but the cause of it becoming loose will determine if it can or cannot. A crown that fell off because of recurrent decay cannot. A crown that came off due to a fractured tooth sometimes can. Finally, a crown that came off due to cement failure typically can. You'll need a dentist to evaluate the remaining tooth structure to decide what category you fall into. Thanks, Dr P
