I have food allergies. Can acupuncture help food allergies?

I believe so. Acupuncture with herbs, and sometimes massage, can help relieve your food allergies gradually. It may take from 4 to 8 weeks with 2-3 sessions per week.
There is a treatment series called NAET that is for the treatment of allergies. There are also herbal formulas that can help. Check with your local acupuncturist to see who has had success treating food allergies.
There is no evidence that acupuncture can help a patient become tolerant or desensitized to an IgE-mediated food allergy!
I see this question a lot. The honest answer is, if you have food allergies your best bet is to avoid triggering foods. Acupuncture can sometimes help mild to moderate allergies and get you to a place where you can have that food item occasionally. If you experience an anaphylactic type response to a given food item or you have something like celiac disease, then your best bet is to cut that item out of your diet permanently.
