In response to your question whether acupuncture can help with low back pain, the answer is absolutely yes. Lumbar pain is among the conditions most studied in acupuncture clinical trials. Acupuncture's proven success treating this common, and often treatment-resistant, problem led to it becoming the first (and only) condition for which Medicare provides some reimbursement for acupuncture. Of course, no treatment can be guaranteed for every person, but I encourage you to try it, whether with a Medical Acupuncture physician or a licensed acupuncturist trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture does help the lower back, usually acupuncture treatment requires 2 times a week for 3 weeks and then another evaluation will be given. Low back pain has 5 different diagnoses, please talk to your acupuncturist for further discussion.
In many many cases, yes. Acupuncture has even been researched in the U.S. by the government & the military in recent years concluding the benefits for lower back pain provided surgery is not necessary.
Many patients come to acupuncture to treat their lower back pain. It is a very common condition that we see at our clinic.
We will exam 1st. Then provide dry needling 1st. Patients will find instant results in general.
Depending on patients’ medical histories and conditions, each patient will have different responses. Patients will have to follow up in 3-7days depending on severity.
Patients will be examined again on how much difference they have experienced since the initial acupuncture treatment.
Then we can give patients a plan for symptomatology.
If we find limitations in improvements, we will apply different plans as a holistic approach.

Absolutely. Lower back pain was the very first symptom that the NIH recommended acupuncture to treat. It is highly effective.
It can. It depends on what actually is going on. I would make an appointment with a acupuncturist and see what are the best options for you and your lower back pain. Good Luck!
