Can gum disease go away?

I was diagnosed with periodontitis. Can gum disease go away?

Gum disease can be managed but not fully reversed once it reaches periodontitis. With proper treatment, including professional cleanings, improved oral hygiene, and possibly medications or surgery, you can stop its progression and keep your gums healthy.
Not without proper care by dentistry and the patient.
No, true periodontitis does not go away because periodontitis is bone loss. You cannot regrow bone, BUT, it can be controlled and managed with treatment and scrupulous homecare. The bacteria that causes the bone loss is almost impossible to completely eradicate from the mouth. Periodontitis is one of the most difficult problems we deal with and it seems to go hand in hand with diabetes and heart disease. Lots of work to do but you CAN keep it at bay. Best of luck with your professional care.... It WILL pay off if you keep with the guidance.
