OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions

Clitoris turning white/gray

The skin under my clitoral hood is turning white, it’s not flakey but it does peel off easily like dead skin. I shower everyday to every other day so I don’t think it’s a hygiene issue. It has been this way for a few months now. Then, last month I had what looked like a bust blood vessel on my clit and a few days later that started to turn white and has not gone back to normal since. I went to a nurse at my obgyn, did not get taken seriously. Have a normal pap. neither blood or urine came back for STIs. I feel like I’m crazy but I know this isn’t normal for me.

This can be a condition of the clitoris and vulva that may require a steroid cream to help if itchy and if not, it can be helped with other topical creams as well. You need to insist to see a medical doctor, not a nurse, for expertise and possibly a biopsy of the area, although hard to know by your description. It is not an STD but could be a skin condition.
What do are you using as soap/ cleanser for your genitalia area . You may have developed an allergy and or a dermatitis in the area. Are you using sex toys ,as this may cause some irritation . If any of these people mentioned conditions are present you should avoid exposure and observe for at least a week if persist you may need further management or the need of a topical steroid. Please consult your physician for further evaluation if the condition persists.
