“Did I take too much ibuprofen?”
I am 18 years old and suffer from fairly severe period pain. I took 2 200mg tablets of ibuprofen at 9 am today, and another 2 at 12:45 today. Is this too much? I hadn't realized 4 hours had not fully elapsed when I took it. Should I be worried? Can I take more tonight?

Since you are taking it briefly (assuming) for 5 days, you can take 600 mg every 6 hours (take with meal or a snack) on the days you have severe pain, then take 600 mg every 8 hours with your 3 meals. It would help to buy ibuprofen, which is enteric coated to prevent gastritis. Advil is one of the brand available over the counter which is enteric coated. Also, you might have endometriosis with such severe pain during periods, birth control pills will help with your pain. See your OB/Gyn and discuss more about this.
