If you do have "pink eye" which is a conjunctivitis, the important question is, what type of conjunctivitis do you have? There are several types of conjunctivitis including bacterial, viral, and allergic and depending what you actually have, a conjunctivitis can be contagious. These are treated differently with eye drops including antibiotics, artificial tears, and anti-allergy drops. It is possible that a conjunctivitis such as viral may go away on its own after an illness/virus has passed. But, before you treat something incorrectly, I would suggest seeing your family doctor or an eye doctor. Sometimes these red eye/ conjunctivitis problems can be a sign that there may be some other issue occurring within the eye. Good luck and best wishes.
For some it may but meanwhile you may be contagious to everyone around you.
