Duodenal perforation?

About 2 weeks ago I had an operation to repair a duodenal perforation. After I left the hospital I had a 2 weeks sick note off work. Do I need to stay at home or go back to work? I think it may be too early because I work on a pig farm.

You can request 2 more weeks off.
I recommend that you follow up with your surgeon prior to returning to work.
After abdominal surgery (assume this was open and not laparoscopic surgery) someone who works on a pig farm and does heavy manual labor should not return to work for at least 6 weeks. That would be 4 weeks if performed with a scope.
Plus, if you had a perf’d DU, you were sick!!

Take the time you need!!
Well, all I can say is wow, you are home and up and moving in just 2 weeks, that is great. I cannot evaluate your situation and readiness to work on this platform. Your surgeon can and you should see them and ask them about this. If you need more time off, they can arrange it. If not, your recovery will be faster the sooner you get back to normal activity.
It depends on if they did the operation through small incisions or big incisions. If it was small incisions, you will be able to get back to work doing at least some light duty. If it was for a big incision you should not do any work for several weeks. If it’s small incisions, then slowly start doing activities before getting into doing really aggressive farm work.
You should check with your surgeon because he/she knows the details of the surgery. If you have reservations about returning to work and the surgeon has given you the go ahead, you should share that with his office staff. They will probably make an appointment for you to see the surgeon. Then your questions will be answered.
