“Intolerance to coffee?”
Until very recently, I didn't have trouble drinking coffee. I drank it infrequently but never noticed anything.
Now it seems that when I drink coffee, I experience stomach upset after about 2-4 hours. I get diarrhea and then it goes away after that.
I don't notice this issue with decaf coffee, tea, or other beverages.
What could be the issue?

Coffee is well known to cause diarrhea in many patients. It's thought to be a caffeine effect. In other cases it might be related to ingestions of dairy or sugar that was added to the coffee.
