Is appendectomy a high risk surgery?

My daughter will have an appendectomy. Is appendectomy a high risk surgery?

If the appendix is perforated and there is peritonitis, it can be more high risk because of the risk of infection. If the appendix is inflamed but is not perforated, it is more likely to be more routine by an experienced surgeon.
No. It is quite routine with low complication rate.
Appendectomy is typically a very low risk surgery.
