Psychologist for therapy; psychiatrist for medications. If you have any further questions or need more clarity, please consult with a psychiatrist. If you`re in Texas, we welcome you to reach out to www.MidCitiesPsychiatry, we`re here to help you.
Hi, Thank you for your question. A psychologist will provide psychotherapy services and a psychiatrist will prescribe medication. The most effective treatment for anxiety has been shown to be a combination of both. I hope this has been helpful! Best, *Jenna Torres, PsyD* LifeStance Health
You can see both, research states it is most effective to do both therapy and use medication - I recommend seeking out both a therapist and psychiatrist if you're interested in both treatments.
You can see either or both simultaneously. A psychologist will use psychotherapy or talk therapy treatment to help you whereas a psychiatrist will prescribe you medication and provide medication management.
Hello my suggestion to you would be a psychologist for your anxiety. I hope this answers your question.
