I want to have ear plastic surgery. What are the risks of ear plastic surgery?

Risks of surgery depend not only on the procedure but also the anesthesia. General anesthesia vs. local anesthesia (Lidocaine) has more potential for post-operative pneumonia, clots and even infection. The ear surgery itself centers more on wound infection, scars, excess pain, or recurrence of the problem. It depends on the focused correction meaning if for prominent ears, recurrence or partial relaxation of the "pinning" is a risk. Thank you for your question.
The most common risk of it is discomfort and or bleeding or hematoma. Your surgeon will decide if he’s going to put a drain. Risk are usually minimal and the most common complication is that the ears bounce back and go back to their preoperative appearance or they appear asymmetric having one year looking a little different than the other. Discuss these concerns with your surgeon before you have the operation .
You need to specify the type of ear surgery you are having.
There can be contour deformity or asymmetry between the ears after ear surgery, relapse of the condition that indicated the procedure, or even chondritis, or inflammation or infection of the cartilage. While complications are uncommon, an experienced surgeon should discuss these with you before your procedure
