if symptoms are persistent and not improved with inhaled steroid and inhaled antihistamines allergy shot ,immunotherapy is the treatment of choice it modified the disease and the benefit persist for years
All of the over the counter allergy medications have their role in treating allergic rhinitis symptoms. The oral antihistamines like Claritin or Zyrtec help with itching, sneezing or drainage. The eye drops help with ocular symptoms like itching. The nasal sprays like Flonase or Nasacort help with nasal congestion. I would suggest you either speak with your PCP or an allergist to create the best combination for your symptoms and allergies. Monika Korff, MDFACAAIoffice-410-730-6000www.allergyasthmamaryland.com
