CEREC crowns are suitable options for front teeth. Crowns made of ceramic are also better options for front teeth than crowns made of metal. Same-day crowns are more visually pleasing.
Best crown is a hard question to pin down. The most fracture resistant fairly esthetic crown now is a high strength zirconia crown. A more esthetic not quite as strong is an esthetic zirconia crown. A very esthetic slightly less fracture resistant crown that is an IPS Empress crown. I would say one of these three would probably be in your top choice.
Generally, the new zirconia materials are best.
I use at least 5 different materials for crowns. Each situation has to evaluated differently. If the tooth has a root canal, that effects the choice significantly.
THe most esthetic is an all porcelain crown. However, this is not good on a root canalled tooth and is not as strong as other materials. Other concerns are, do you grind your teeth, Do you smoke, do you enjoy in physical sports where you might chip your teeth, Is esthetics a prime issue and are you doing only one tooth or 6 or more?
