Pediatrician Questions Persistent Cough

Daughter has persistent cough. What doctor should I consult?

My daughter, aged 6 and a half, with a weight of 16.4 kg has been coughing for the past three months almost ... and she has the same problem every time she has a cold. The cough continues for the next 2 to 3 months. We consulted doctors and they prescribed antibiotics but the cough came back again in 2 or 3 days. We did blood test and Mantoux too, and the reports are all normal, except the polymorphs which was 75%. Doctor said it was just bacterial infection. But no medicine is working. The cough starts and it keeps on going throughout the day. Last two days she has been complaining of pain in the ribs too while breathing. Forgot to mention that unlike other times this time her lymph nodes had also bulged up and it's hurting. Though they have subsided the cough still remains..

Kindly advise what kind of doctor should I consult. As of now I have consulted a paediatrician and an ayurvedic doctor.

She probably needs to see an asthma and allergist doctor. This probably starts out as a viral URI but because she probably has mild asthma the cough persists. she may need to be on a daily controller. she may also need allergy testing.
