“How long does Guillain-Barré syndrome take to get treated with physical therapy?”
My son suffered from Guillain-Barré syndrome. He has now been discharged from the hospital and the doctor says only physical therapy can help him recover quickly. How long will it take for him to recover? I've heard some people can recover in months while some others will take years.

That is true. However, we have devices that may speed the recovery.

It's true, there is not an actual time frame. Some recover almost 100%, and some live with residual weakness as the result of this disease.
What you have heard is correct. It may take months or even years for him to recover. And it may be possible that he will be managing this for the rest of his life. Ultimately, it depends on how his body responds to the treatments as to how long it will take. Unfortunately, in today's insurance-driven world of medicine, he may get the basics of caring for this himself before the insurance company cuts off his therapy. Check your policy.
