My son twisted his ankle while playing football. How can we help him?

During one of his games, my son twisted his ankle while playing football. He didn't tell the coach, of course, so now his ankle is worse and also looks a little swollen. Right now, we have a cold compress over it to ease the pain. But is there anything else that we should do?

Initially ice, elevation, but then wrapping with brace / tape. Epsom salt bath of ankle. Physical therapy to future reinjury. Consider PRP if happening too many times.
Would get an X-ray a bday physical exam.
1) X-ray to rule out fracture
2) Brace
3) Rehab
Best to rule out fracture with X-rays, then ice as needed. Ibuprofen/naproxen with food. Can work with physical therapy to prevent from happening again & consider ankle brace
Rest, ice x20-30 minutes every couple of hours (ice not directly on skin), apply some mild compression, and elevate above heart level. If there's difficulty bearing weight, he may need an X-ray to rule out a fracture. May take over-the-counter ibuprofen or Tylenol if not allergic to them (take the appropriate dose based on his weight and age).
