Massage Therapist Questions Rashes

Rash on back after massage therapy?

I had a massage with essential oils recently, and it was the first time that I had a massage like this. A day after the massage, I felt that my back was really itchy and my husband saw a bumpy rash on it. It's moderate, and I bought some cream to help. Do you think this is from the oils?

You might have had an Allergic reaction to the oil that she used on you, have you ever had essential oils used on you before? Next time make sure you tell him or her what happened with this massage, some people are more sensitive to oils than what they thought. Or go and have yourself a Allergy test to see what oils you might be Allergic to.
It is a strong possibility the essential oil caused a reaction. Not to say essential oils are bad, some are not meant to be used 'neat' because of that very reason. Just be sure as well that the oils used are authentic and pure.
Theres no way for me to know for sure. A dermatologist would be your best source of information.   In answer to your question: yes its possible. Dahana
Could be a reaction to the oils. Could it be from something else? Did they use any tools on your back like IASTM, cupping or brushes?
The first thing I would say is it depends. Most people are not allergic to essential oils and if essential oils are not properly diluted, yes they 100 percent can cause a reaction like you experienced. I would recommend you contact the therapist and share your findings, this will help other clients of hers as well as the therapist as she may not know this unless you tell her. Blessings and best wishes!
It might be. I would call your massage therapist an ask about the oils used, what the sheets washed in etc. It could be many different reasons and talking it over with your massage therapist could help find out. Ask your doctor about it as well.
High probability that it was. The therapist should have asked you if you had an allergy to the oils before applying them to your body.
I know your pain! I have severe allergies and am limited to certain products. It sounds like you have a little sensitivity to the essential oils.
I would follow up with an allergist to find out what exactly it is. I hope this helped!
Most likely yes. Sounds like an allergic reaction to the essential oils.
