Internal Medicine | Rheumatology Questions Juvenile Arthritis

Will my child outgrow juvenile arthritis?

My daughter was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis recently. I know in adulthood, from watching my mom, her arthritis was a chronic condition that she had for the rest of her life. I don't want my daughter to go through the same thing. Does juvenile arthritis eventually go away?

It can go away but it seems you have a possible family history of autoimmunity (depending upon what type of arthritis your mom had).
JRA (& other autoimmune arthropathies) can be triggered or worsened by food allergies & infections of nearly any type. In addition some infections (such as Lyme & parvovirus) can mimic arthritis.
You may want to put her on an anti-inflammatory diet & also see an alternative practitioner besides her pediatrician & rheumatologist.
Not sure if my information shows when I answer questions but I am located in NJ & may be able to help.
