Lewy body dementia is found in those with Parkinson's disease
Dementia with Lewy Bodies or DLB materializes due to abnormal deposits of proteins from inside the nerve cells in your brain. These proteins are called Lewy Bodies. Lewy bodies, or protein deposits, are often found in patients with Parkinson's disease.
Symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia include:
- Confusion
- Poor judgment
- Memory problems
- Movement problems like stiffness, shuffling walk, lack of facial expression and problems with balance. You are at risk of falls.
- Daytime drowsiness
- Hallucinations
- Changes in alertness
- Acting out dreams
